U13s big win over Longford
U-13s Midland Area League
Tullamore 32 Longford 00
Tullamore won the first title of season for the club and remained unbeaten in the Area. This win qualifies them for the Leinster U-13 League Quarter Final with a home venue.
Tullamore certainly showed the rustiness of a five week enforced layoff but improved considerably as the game progressed. It took nearly twenty minutes for the first score to come with a try from Jason Owens. Before half time Paul Norton and Mel Rowland had scored tries.
Jason Owens got the best try of the match early in the second half when he beat four players on the outside to get in and Paul Norton found his range to convert. Paul then kicked a penalty before Barry Bracken got his name on the scoresheet and again Paul converted.
The visitors could possibly have scored another couple or tries but kicked away posseesion instead of running at a tired defence.
Congratulations to the squad and coaches and good luck in the Leinster League play offs.
